Groningen tail clock with double hood - around 1850
Very beautiful, antique Groningen tail clock with double top;
the top features polychrome panels with townscapes and two side panels with figures.
One of the painted panels is missing.
The clock has a polychrome dial with moon phase plus a date display.
Striking mechanism which strikes every quarter, half and full hour.
Fitted with an alarm clock striking mechanism.
The movement was refurbished two years ago.
Physical characteristics:
Measurements: Height approx. 142 cm, Width (bottom of the ears) approx. 31 cm, Depth approx. 20 cm.
