Longines was founded in the year 1867 in Saint-Imier, Es Longines ("Long Meadows") by Ernest Francillon. In same year 20A, the first own movement, was produced. This 20-line caliber was having an anchor escapement, pendant winding and setting mechanism. In same 1867 it wins an award in Paris at Universal Exhibition.
